After the successful Legal Recruitment Fair on the 17th of September, Dundee University Law Society was thrilled to host another CMS Networking Afternoon. Staying on campus, the afternoon was held at D’Arcy Thompson Restaurant, a beautiful venue that proved ideal for the event. The friendly staff and fantastic choice of food went down a treat with all attendees.
The CMS Networking Afternoon has become a staple of the first semester career events. It offers an opportunity to students and legal professionals to chat outside of the formal setting of the Legal Recruitment Fair.
As students’ progress through their degree, applications for opportunities with firms approach quickly. Researching a firm via their website and other publications offers the knowledge needed to approach representatives, however, the chance to actually speak with these professionals is an experience that will make students stand out from the crowd. Through feedback received regarding this event, attendees have expressed they gained a lot of tips and further information about applications thanks to this opportunity to liaise with firms.
Dundee University Law Society would like to extend a huge thank-you to all those at CMS that made this event possible for another year. We had excellent feedback from all attendees about the event and look forward to the future of this event.
Feedback has shown the careers team how much students enjoy this style of event – thus, incorporation of networking will be included in as many future events as possible. The first of these events being “Get that Traineeship!” on the 11thof October. If you didn’t get a chance to pop along to the networking afternoon, do keep your eyes open for information about our “Get that Traineeship!” event.
The DULS Careers Team would like to once again thank all those who attended the networking event and our sponsor, CMS.
